Advertising Policy

How HealthCoach Africa works with advertisers and sponsors, and the firewall that keeps our health information independent, accurate, and free from commercial influence.

Last updated: 6 August 2026

Advertising helps keep HealthCoach Africa free for the millions of patients, professionals, and leaders who rely on us. It never buys influence over what we publish or how we review it.

Our commitment

HealthCoach Africa, operated by HubCare Global Ltd, is committed to being the most trusted source of health information in Africa. Trust is our most valuable asset, and we protect it by keeping a strict separation between our editorial work and our commercial partnerships. This policy explains how advertising works on our platform and the standards every advertiser must meet.

Editorial independence

Our editorial team decides what we cover and how we cover it. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over our reporting, our clinical guidance, our medical review process, or the conclusions we reach.

  • Advertisers cannot review, approve, or edit editorial content before it is published.
  • Buying advertising does not earn favourable coverage, and declining to advertise never results in negative coverage.
  • Our editorial staff and our medical reviewers are separate from our sales and partnerships team.
  • We do not allow advertisers to target content to appear next to specific health conditions in a way that could mislead readers.

Types of advertising

You may encounter the following on HealthCoach Africa:

Display advertising

Standard banner and image adverts served on our pages, either sold directly by our team or delivered through vetted advertising partners.

Sponsored content

Articles or features funded by a sponsor. Sponsored content is produced under our editorial standards and is always clearly labelled so you know a sponsor was involved.

Newsletter & social sponsorship

Sponsored placements within The HealthCoach Brief or on our social channels, always identified as such.

Partner listings

Jobs, grants, programmes, and services from organisations we work with, presented alongside a clear indication of the relationship.

How we label advertising

We believe you should always be able to tell the difference between independent editorial content and paid promotion. Paid or sponsored material carries a clear label such as "Advertisement," "Sponsored," "Paid partnership," or "In partnership with." If you ever see content on our platform that seems commercial but is not labelled, please tell us using the contact details below.

Standards every advertiser must meet

All advertising on HealthCoach Africa must be:

  • Truthful and accurate. Claims must be substantiated and must not mislead.
  • Legal and compliant. Adverts must comply with Nigerian law, including NAFDAC and advertising regulations, and with the rules of any market they target.
  • Safe and responsible. Health-related products and services must not endanger the public or discourage people from seeking qualified care.
  • Clearly distinguishable from our editorial content.
  • Respectful of our audience, free from discriminatory, deceptive, or offensive material.

We reserve the right to reject, remove, or require changes to any advert at our sole discretion.

What we will not accept

We do not run advertising for, among other things: unapproved or counterfeit medicines; products making unproven cures or miracle claims; tobacco and related products; content that exploits, endangers, or targets children; misleading "miracle" weight-loss or fertility products; and anything that promotes discrimination, hate, or illegal activity.

Affiliate and commerce relationships

Some links on HealthCoach Africa, including links to HubPharm Africa and other partners, may be commercial. Where we may earn a commission or where a partner is part of our group, we disclose that relationship. Our recommendations are guided by editorial judgement and the interests of our readers, not by commission.

Group disclosure

HealthCoach Africa, HubPharm Africa, and HubCare Health are part of the HubCare Global ecosystem. When we reference or link to a sister company, we do so transparently so you understand the connection.

Advertising and your data

Some advertising may be personalised based on limited information such as the page you are viewing or general, non-identifying signals. You can control how your data is used for advertising and analytics on our Privacy Settings page, and you can learn more in our Privacy Notice.

Medical review stays independent

Health content on our platform is written and checked for accuracy by our editorial team, with clinical claims reviewed by qualified healthcare professionals. This process is never influenced by advertisers or sponsors. Advertising is a way to fund our mission; it is never a way to shape our medical guidance.
