Travel health company NAVALA has launched operations in Ghana with a platform combining telemedicine, vetted local provider networks, pharmacy support and round-the-clock care coordination, Citi Newsroom reported on August 15.
The launch event in Accra brought together traditional leaders, healthcare executives and tourism stakeholders. The company describes its service model as See, Connect, Coordinate, Care.
Founder and chief executive Fungisai Nota said the company is not just building a platform but building a promise that a caring, human team and trusted medical professionals are a tap away.
Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, said a safe and healthy traveller is Ghana’s best ambassador and that the service gives the country a competitive edge.
Daniel Ampomah Oppong, country director for NAVALA Ghana, said connecting visitors to licensed and trusted local providers strengthens the domestic health ecosystem rather than bypassing it.
Koby Appiah-Sakyi, president of the Africa Medical Tourism Council, called the launch a step forward for healthcare accessibility across the continent. Nana Ayisi Ako II, Abontendohene of Adukrom Akuapem, chaired the event and summarised its philosophy as technology connects, people care.
Travel health is a small but growing commercial segment in West Africa, tied to diaspora visits, conference traffic and medical tourism flows that Ghana has targeted in its tourism strategy.
